Changing the text in the email to a new user

Hi all,
Been searching for an answer for this but no luck, I'm trying to add additional text to the email that is automatically generated when the administrator creates a new user/registered. Currently it looks like this;

Hello Joe Bloggs,


You have been added as a User to ACME by an Administrator.

This email contains your username and password to log in to https://www.acme.co.nz/

Username: joe
Password: xyz


Please do not respond to this message as it is automatically generated and is for information purposes only.

Create a language override (Administrator site) for PLG_USER_JOOMLA_NEW_USER_EMAIL_BODY

Change this as you feel is appropriate to your own circumstances.

It's a language override, see (and read) the first link I sent you.

Thanks ranwilli, I did read that and I know how to create an override but when I try searching in Languages: Edit Override using any of the text that is used in the current email form (please see above) it comes up with no match?

Try a "new" override, search for the plugin name sozzled gave you as "constant"

We'll try to explain this very simply for you.

1. Go to Extensions » Language(s) » Overrides
2. Select "English (GB) - Administrator" in the Filter: (left hand side of the page)
3. Click New on the top of the page; a new page will appear.
4. Go to the Search the text you want to change area on the right hand side of the page.
5. Select Search For = Constant. (below the Search button).
6. Type the following text in the Search text box

   Code: Select all

   PLG_USER_JOOMLA_NEW_USER_EMAIL_BODY

7. When the existing language constant's value appears in the Search Results, click the returned result to populate the form fields.
8. Make your changes to the Text and click Save and Close at the top of the page.
9. Your new language override has been created and saved.

I suspect you skipped step 2.
