URL problem - ?filter_tag[0]=

Post by Leftfield » Tue Nov 07, 2017 8:48 pm

Hi All,

After update to 3.8.2, there is new part of URL at the end of category links: ?filter_tag[0]=

How to remove that?

[UPDATED]
This is probably your tempate bug in ../html/mod_menu/default_component.php.

Instead of `$item->link` should be `$item->flink`.

To workaround this, go to the backend -> edit category menu item and remove from tags field "None" value and save only once.

At generated link field you should see something like `index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=25`

If you save menu item with selected None tag then your link back to
`index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=25&filter_tag[0]=`

Main menu does not link to category
3.8.2 with sample data does not have a link in the main menu to a category
The 'About Joomla!' menu has links for Category blog and Category list which give urls
/index.php/using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-blog
and
/index.php/using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list

Unable to replicate your error

Have you set up a tracker https://issues.joomla.org/ or does one already exist ?

There is no issue about this. I typed too fast. I updated my above comment.

This is result (image bellow). Even when I use sef URLs or sh404sef it adds that part of the URL

Edit: Of course I want SEO URLs. If Joomla is not ready for that, not a problem to go to another CMS

URL is with ?filter_tag[0]= and thats why I am complaining. I don't want that part of URL.

The trick is to click on "X" to exclude "None" from Tags and then click Save. If you save again, than the fantastic part is added wildly to the URL.

12 years Joomla cant make normal SEF URLs. That's fantastic score.

I was having this issue same issue. I went to the menu item and removed the 'none' tag from the tags section under the details tab. It did add it back, but it resolved the issue.

This doesn't work for me either. I don't even see 'none' in the tags field and it's still showing up. It only seems to be happening on the category blog option where the new tag feature is available.

Help!

I've fixed the problem here. I'm on Joomla 3.83 so maybe that's why the above solution doesn't work.

As mentioned there is nothing in the tags field under the Details tab. Go to the Category tab and then where it says 'Show Tags', set this to hide. The ?filter_tag[0]= part is no longer there.

Correct. I've just updated to 3.8.3, and the "None" tag option is no longer available. 'New' solution as mentioned above. Thanks bobdobelina! Note: Even if your setting is already set to "Hide", just open menu item with blog layout and "Save".
