Pages name in google

Post by ybeybe » Wed May 09, 2018 12:26 pm

In the past few weeks I noticed google results for some of my pages is, instead of:

Page name - site name

This:

Page name - another page name

The site name in some of the pages has ben changed to one of the other page names (one of the articles in my site).

This happened only in some of the pages, not all.

All tha page titles are ok, the site name in joomla is ok and I cant understand why this happends.

Can someone has an idea?

Hi

That's expected and is not related to something you have done. Studies have shown that Google (no idea about Bing) will only use your site title and description about 40 to 50% of cases.

Most often, they will either modify or totally change title and/or description based on the searcher query.

See https://www.seroundtable.com/meta-descr ... 25627.html

Best regards

We face this problem that Google indexes pages on a subdomain that does not exist. For example: Google indexed reseller.conversal.be/, while these pages “reseller” do not exist on our website. How is this possible? We have been able to solve this problem through the following steps:

1) Created reseller domain
2) Added reseller domain to Google Search Console
3) Requested no index for this reseller.links in Google Search Console
4) Set up redirects from reseller.conversal.be to conversal.be
5) Waited 4 days for the first results

Nowadays we have notices that again several search results appear with the link portfolio.conversal.be/. How is this possible? This subdomain doesn't even exist in our C-panel. Where does it come from and how can we avoid this in the future? In what way is this inconvenient for our search results?

Does anyone has experience with this way of indexing?
What is the ultimate solution?
Thanks!

The sub-domain may exist because you have a *.conversal.be record in dns.
The wild-card resolves to everything.

Does the sub-domain resolve to a page?
