How to clean my homepage from hacked links?

Post by nhyiraba » Fri Jun 01, 2018 1:42 pm

Hi everyone,
My name is Nhyiraba and new to this forum.
For sometime now i have realised some links just under my main menu which are all porn links which i didn't create myself. I realised oneday that i could not login to the back end of my site and realised it was hacked.
After geting access to the database i was able to change the password but could not get rid of the links injected to the front page of the site. I have tried all i could but nothing could be done.
I woulb be very grateful if someone here can help me get rid of those links.
my website is [ redacted ] also attached is the image of the site.
Thanks!

They may very well be hardcoded into the index file or somewhere else.
If they got FTP access for instance.
Make sure you change your FTP password..

But if you are still on Joomla 2.5 you really need to move and upgrade to the latest 3.8.8 asap..
