folder - file permissions and ownership Topic is solved

This is probably a groaner for most who read it, but I cannot find a definitive answer.
The docs say the website folder should give folder permissions of 755, files 644 and config file as 444

What I cannot find is ownership. When I installed Joomla, all is owned be root.
Should it be changed to www-data (am on Ubuntu 18.04 running apache2), or even to local user :chown bubba:bubba ?

That depends of the PHP-webserver interface.

With fcgi or FPM-cgi, Joomla will run as the owner of the index.php file

With apach2handler it will be www-data or similar.
