Web Links - Warning: Creating default object from empty value

I get the following error message in between the description of the category of the Weblinks and its "Web Links filter search" text box:

Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /my site/components/com_weblinks/views/category/tmpl/default_items.php on line 17

This is the code that seems to generate the warning message:

I can't say when this warning message has appeared. I just saw it today.

Joomla version: 3.9.20
PHP: 7.4.8

I don't know what the shortcut for params does. Since the function of Web Links didn't seem to be affected by the warning message, as a quick fix I just commented out line 17 and got rid of the warning message.

Thanks, I've changed the session.save_path and the Session Path Writable is now Yes.

I've also upgraded Joomla to 3.9.21, but the warning message still appears when line 17 is put back to default. I had to comment it out again.

The template "index.php" is probably an old copy of Protostar that I've already deleted and does not show up in the backend. I don't understand why it's shown in the FPA.

I use two templates of Protostar. One is Protostar default. The other one is a copy of Protostar where I've made some changes, then my changes of Protostar won't be lost during an update of Joomla.

I'm grateful that you've installed and tested Web Links, and it's good to know that you don't get the warning message.

I should have mentioned that I'm using the latest version of Web Links (3.7.0) with release date on 2 Jul 2020. It could happen that the problem with the warning message appeared after the update of Web Links, but I can't say for sure.

I sent you a second PM short afterwards, when I realized my mistake just to send you the link to the Home page, with direct links to those pages where the Web Links are used. You shouldn't have to login to display the pages containing the Web Links since they're Public.

The template "index.php" is probably an old copy of Protostar that I've already deleted and does not show up in the backend. I don't understand why it's shown in the FPA.

I found a similar issue in another thread FPA still finds uninstalled templates and followed the advice given by sozzled.

When the FPA shows certain extensions (including templates) as "installed" but you cannot find them, this is because there's no corresponding record for them in the database. The question mark behind some of the templates indicate that they were not found in the _extensions table. The FPA lists them because the extensions manifest file (XML) was found in the folder structure.

The first thing to do is to go to the backend and navigate to Extensions » Manage » Database.

If you see success a message like "Database table structure is up to date", congratulations! You don't have any issue with your database as far as J! is concerned. If there are issues with the database they will be displayed. Click the Fix button at the top of the screen to attempt to fix any database problems.

The next thing you may like to do is "discover" any extensions that failed to install properly. Go to Extensions » Manage » Discover and follow the instructions at https://docs.joomla.org/Help39:Extensio ... r_Discover

The database table structure was up to date and there's no matching result of "Discover extensions that have not gone through the normal installation process".

I can't recall that I've set LiveSite. I've just disclosed the domain name in the FPA by replacing it with "My Site". By the way the site is live, if that make any difference. I just don't fancy to post the domain on the forum.
