Super Administrator

Please i need help!

someone uploaded joomla for me and has since died.
he was the super administrator and me the administrator
i need to access the database and do some things to get the site working propertly
but dont know his passwords.

Is there anyway i can upgrade to super and work on my site now he's no more?

can you log into your webhost and use phpmyadmin to get access to your database?

If not, I don't know of a way to do this.

I see this was posted in 2008, but I do not see any other posts with this problem. The same thing happened to me! The webmaster died and there is no one else to access the admin content. I am the only other admin (but not super). Is there anyone in Joomlaland who can help? Thanks!
