Sorry Brad, no offence intended. it just seemed that show-casing was the whole point of the competition. Didn't meant to step over a line.brad wrote: It's an opinion. You has yours, and so does he.. just a reminder to keep this thread above board.

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
I really dig this template. The addition of collapsible module positions above the content (much like the ones below) would be a very very welcome feature.
Think for yourself, question authority.

One more hidden module position is "hornav". This module is used in case you want to use an external navigation module.

I think this is a wonderful template and I did not want to do any harm or seem rude with my previous post.
This template is the best I have seen so far and it has my vote.
I would like to see more documentation go the template if it wins.
Great job, JA you guys do great work.

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
Accessibility is surely considered when we design our templates. For instance, the hidden tags at the beginning of the page make it easier for Speaker Browser access. Or the "Content first" markup: the main content of the page is loaded before other elements.newart wrote: in your template are there something useful for accessible needs?

A Guaranteed top 3 template in my opinion... Nicely done.
Actually I am a bit surprised when it comes to the quality of the submitted templates. Too many of them ( in my opinion ) are not even worthy of top 200.. :-) If you catch my drift. Of the submitted ones I don't find any problems picking only 5 templates which are good...

Great Template, have a project that fits it perfectly.
One question, had a quick look, but how do I change the logo size as I want to use a longer one. Can't seem to find where that is stored as it appears dynamic??

Hi,
Konqueror 3.3 was released 19-August-2004, that means this browser is over 3 years old.
Latest version on their homepage is 3.5.4 released 25-September-2006, so even the latest version is 1 year old.
http://www.konqueror.org/news.php
You can't expect that you can use historic equipment for browsing todays and tomorrows dynamic webpages.

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
sorry I totally disagree with you, a template has to be for everybody and worldwide! If you can you do use the last Vista and IE7 with a splendid notebook or better an Apple... maybe you but not others (or all the people) in the world!
I think being compatible with a lot of browsers means to be connected really with the world (not our local urban area) and in this case if a Linux user has a problem with this template, well this template has a problem!
So it is important to solve a bug for a 3 years "old" browser!
(How old is IE6?)

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
I agree it needs to support a wide variety of browsers. But do you really think it should also support IE 4.0? And perhaps even IE 3.0??
Where does the limit go? To me a 3 year old browser is not even worth considering to be "fully compliant" with. Yes, it needs to load and show up "pretty good" but in my world you need to update your equipment/browser. 3 year in an internet world is actually really old. Like it or not. Most likely there is also the concern of mass, in other words, how many users sit on conqureror 3.3?? 0.02%? Should you spend hours and hours on developing for all 3 years old and up to date browsers, then I guess not a single template would have had time to be released. Because there are constantly newer versions of browsers as well and it is virtually impossible to accommodate all needs.
Ok, ranting about this way too long now...

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
I do understand your logic and also what said by you, that a template "needs to load and show up "pretty good" ", I hope within a 3 years of development. I don't want to say all browsers, also in the roman empire age. What I say is a template is better if compatible almost/within 3 years of development.
In my site I have a lot of users and I see the browsers statistics, I can assure you that the world is very "wide".
In this case we have a template only for the updated technical people... or a template compatible for only this year 2007?! That's the question.
However your opinion is a good one, and that template is like a choice, if you like a state-of-the-year template you have to see a certain type of template, you have no choise. But even who has other browsers have no choise...
Shortly, I think joomlart with their experience has no problem at solving any issues.

Re: Template Contest Entry - [JA Purity]
In my opinion, the 3 years is not too old for an software or application but to a browser, it is pretty old.
Another point, we should spend time on developing and tuning the template for other browsers on modern internet access enabled devices (Iphone/PDA/Mobiles..) rather than spending too much time on old browsers.
Anyway, current version of JA Purity have problem with Konqueror and will be fixed to work smoothly with Konqueror 3.5.x
Anyone help to test with the Iphone >
