Blank page after installing Joomla! 4.4.0 Topic is solved

After installing Joomla! 4.4.0, a blank page is displayed. No errors or anything.
Same thing with a clean install.
OS Windows, Apache 2.4.58, PHP 8.2.11, MariaDB 11.1
In the Joomla! 4.3.4 everything works well.
Tell me what is the problem? Or should we wait for a new release?

Yes. The update package and the installation package were downloaded from the official website. (https://downloads.joomla.org)

I switched to PHP 8.1.24, same problem.

Joomla! 4.3.4 works without problems 4.4.0 blank page.

The FPA has found the Joomla folders but not the Joomla configuration, normally stored as the file configuration.php in the main Joomla folder. Joomla cannot connect to the database or the database server, presumably in the same box or localhost. Did you create a new database schema for the new installation?

Which version of Joomla did you attempt to update to Joomla 4.4.0?

Also the FPA tells that the session path is not writable. It is defined in the php.ini file. The maximum memory 128M can be too small for updates, it should preferably be 256M.

In Linux everything worked without problems.
But the problem is that it’s more convenient for me to work in Windows, and before the 4.4.0 update everything worked well, maybe there’s a problem with directory rights?

If you're getting a white/blank page, enable both debug and set error reporting to Maximum as that will then show on screen the errors. You can do this through the configuration.php file directly if you don't have access to the Joomla Administrator area. Do this for both sites if they are having issues.

Some other observations from the FPA reports:

It appears you have K2 installed in JOomla 4.3.4. Does it actually work in J4? As far as I know, K2 is not yet J4 compatible. This could be at least a contributor to your issues.

You also have ACYMailing old version 7.5.10 - any version earlier than 8.7.0 had some issues with hacking. Update that to the latest version, as referenced on the Vulnerable Extensions List (VEL): https://extensions.joomla.org/vulnerabl ... ing-other/ with the fix/announcement on the vendor's website: https://www.acymailing.com/acymailing-r ... s-updates/. The latest is 8.7.3 released on the JED 6 September 2023.

This is the error when I clean install Joomla 4.4.0 on Windows. There are no errors in version 4.3.4.

The error comes from an incorrect configuration of PHP JIT (just in time compilation) in the PHP OPcache extension, which combination is not supported under Windows.

Go to System - Information - System Information - PHP Information and search for the section 'Zend OPcache'. The fifth line starts with 'JIT' and it should say 'disabled'. Wampserver versions of PHP work with Joomla 4.4 because JIT is disabled in OPcache.

If you manage your own localhost server, you should be able to turn JIT off by editing the main php.ini file in Apache or having a dedicated php.ini file in the main Joomla folder:

This issue in PHP configuration in Windows 11 environment was actually reported last week in Joomla 4.4.0 Release Candidate 1: [4.4.0-rc1]Execution on Windows fails with JIT enabled #42142.

Now there is a PR waiting for two successful test results before the fix can be included in the next point release of Joomla 4.4:

If you need your Windows 11 localhost to allow the installation of Joomla 4.4 right now before Joomla 4.4.1 is released, edit the php.ini file, as shown above.
