I know that the

An error has occurred.
Joomla\Filesystem\Folder::create: Infinite loop detected

when updating Joomla is likely to be a permission error or incorrect setting

Everything seems correct in my J 4 installation but i still get this error.

Can someone please look at the graphic and see if they can help?

Is there a Symlink in the path?

It can also be illegal characters in a folder name.

Have you tried to wide everything and redo the installation?

Some of the lines mentioned in you stack trace do not correspond to executable code lines in my J4 test installations. You need to tell us more about your installation. Run the Forum Post Assistant and post the public results here.

Thank you both for your posts. I am running Joomla on a commercial Windows server. I will try the Forum Post assistant to see what this gives.
