Translato Joomla to Albanian
Hello everyone,
I had intentions to translate Joomla 1.5.3 into Albanian language since I have not seen that there was such a thing. Are there any guidelines where can understand what files to be translated and what not?
Thanks in advance for answers

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Hi
Yes, I did finish, but I did not have time to test it and correct errors. There are some stupid errors when you navigate through the back-end to test it. The translation is correct in the standalone file, but when it comes to the Albanian Grammar, some things are just wrong.
I don't want to deliver a beta version. I want to deliver a working version, with the exception of some things which the Albanian language simply cannot provide for. There are some instances I have left the English version for the only reason to identify the pieces not translated.
Anyway, I intend to resume testing it soon, because actually I just finished it, put it on an experimental site and had a glance to it, no more. Then got caught in other things and forgot about it.
I will post when due
regards.

Hi
Thank you very much the fast response. I am always waiting to help you in something. I am Albanian and then I could see something to help you. I imagine that you are Albanian too then perhaps my help is not required.
Thank you very much. I will be awaiting your reply

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Look,
not that I want all the credit, and not that I don't want/need people to help me, it's just that I want to finish it and say: this is the product, and these are the things I can't/don't know how to do.
I am very open to discussion and after I finish it I would like to have much much feedback and discussions on that. You know, I guess, that Albanian is problematic in what regards technical translations, that's the reason I want to give my maximum so that others be concentrated on discussions on dubious/wrong things. I think it's effective.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Would be nice if we could add this Albanian package in the common repository on joomlacode:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtranslation/frs/
Let me know if you are interested to join the Translation Teams.
In this case, we could add Albanian in installation for 1.5.8 and the site and admin packs should be installable before being uploaded on JC.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Hi
I don't see any upload link at the address you gave me, to put the files there.
Of course I'm interested to join the team, from today on consider me in. I will keep the files updated as joomla progresses. I have translated also joomla 1.0 (another version from the one that is already posted in here), but in a matter of weeks or months version 1.5 was due, so I just quit editing it (I already had finished it). I will, though, turn back to it and finish it.
Sidenote: I didn't have time to find and follow instructions to make the package installable, so I will try it later, I'm too busy for a week or so. Maybe it's easy, maybe difficult, I don't know. For now, I have a live site with the files and it is OK, and it works by uploading with ftp.
Best regards
Blendi Kraja

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
I will try to get your installation files in 1.5.8
Later, when you are available, just pm to me and we will discuss to get your packs on joomlacode.
The install.xml takes 2 seconds with the Translation Manager component.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
I don't understand this: "The translation is not official in the Albanian language, which now ranges?", however I can guess what you want to convey.
My translation is in Albanian, full stop. If you think it is not, or that I have translated it badly, you can stop TALKING and begin WORKING: present a request to translate joomla! anew and be in charge of the second Albanian translation team (you can follow up with joomla! representatives, I'm not interested in this topic). My cooperation with joomla! is based on mutual interest and respect. If you think you can do a better job and take over on this translation of mine, I leave my "office" to you willingly, if you like. I'm not too keen to have official denominations.
I would be immensely interested to see an alternative translation. Competition is very welcome as far as I'm concerned. Because you state that you "understand the Albanian language Very Good", I'm eager to have and review a translation of yours.
Please bear with me as I remind you that we are operating in the open source community. This brings freedom but also responsibilities.
Regards.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Yes the observations are correct.
Badly translated (dialect, not official language), however with a few modifications works fine. I can give you the modifications if you like and then you can just edit it so that we don't have to do 100 Albanian language packs and focus on other things.
As far as those wanting to use dialect they can do their own modifications as they please, but I think the main package needs to be literally correct.
Great job on all the rest.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Hi
I'm looking forward to have a "politically correct" Albanian Joomla! translation, as previously stated in my previous posts. As the last poster states, it is all too easy: take my version, make some modifications and, voilà!, here you go in full spirit of the open and free beer.
You don't like to have 100 versions and want an official version? Why are you in an open source environment in the first place? Why doesn't the world has only Drupal, or only Joomla!? So you will focus on other things...
Sarcasm aside (no offence meant, however), I still don't get it: why people only lament and do not work, i.e. create an output?
PLEASE do another version, I mean it!!!
As far as the "badly translated, dialect, literally correct", this is not the place for rants so I'm moving along.
Regards
Blendi Kraja

JM, I hope the one who gave you that link presenting it as authoritative was joking. Though, it would be of bad taste.

Re: Translato Joomla to Albanian
Well that's the part where it talks about dialects but if you are interested to know about the official Albanian language here is a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albanian_language#Standard
I have pointed to standard because it's a long article in case you don't want to read it all.
I think this will help you too Blendi.
Merry Christmas!!!
